Leather dye or conditioner for leather seat?

The leather on my 750 single seat is faded and I'd like to freshen it up. I've tried Fiebing's leather dye on a suit before, but it wore/rubbed off. Is there a more permanent die that won't rub off or will a conditioner like Picard's be any good? I'm guessing that only drum dried leather is permanent.
Thanks

There are paints they use on vinal dashboards. I would be recovering it. In 50 years of hanging around motorbikes, I have only seen one actual leather seat on a bike. It didn't weather well.

My error: Genevieve from the movie of the same name about two couples in the London to Brighton run that was released in my birth year. A classic car film! Too much sake at dinner tonight!

Oh well, upon closer examination, the "leather" I assumed is actually vinyl, so dying it won't be possible.
Thanks anyways- I'll probably sell it on Ebay
