I don't ride the SF3 often in the dark, but when I do, despite being an halogen headlight, the light is pretty feeble. So I'm going to try an LED bulb. A Google search recommended a Cenmoll H4 bulb. I haven't tried it in the dark yet, but it's certainly looks a lot brighter and most important the beam has the same spread.

I've had an Auxito in mine for the last 7,000 miles.
Loads more light for less than half the Wattage (26W).
The only, minor, issue that I had was the headlamp pulsed, slightly, with the indicators.
Cured that, by upgrading the indicators to LED, too.
Using a Kellermann Micro 1000 LED Flasher Relay R1, takes up less room in the headlamp shell and provides a bright, steady-rate indicator flash.
 
Your halogen sounds like it's suffering from voltage drop, Nat. Easily cured by fitting a relay (good idea for both high and low beams) and good earthing. I've fitted LEDs to the SFQ and they are certainly bright. I got mine from a mob called STEDI based in Hoppers Crossing in Melbourne. Got H7s in the Skoda from them as well and they replaced one under warranty without problem. Big advantage is low wattage, loads of light.

Q that's where I got the LEDs for the instrument backlights from. Very helpful for all LEDs. Once I finish the Atlas stuff that's the next job.

Yeah - also the pic of the old bulb indicates that there is VERY low voltage on the headlight. You should check really as using a LED bulb is masking the real problem: insufficient electric connections. Very often, the cables have developed verdigris between the cable and the connector, which increases resistance and therewith lowers voltage. Check all 3 cables (also earthing, yes!) and make sure all have proper and sufficient contact and deliver the least possible resistance. that itself can give you 30 - 40% more light even on H4 bulbs. The relay solution is a good one, but it could potentially also cause problems if the root cause (high resistance) isn't cured. So - first step: check Voltage at the front bulb and potentially renew the connectors, second integrate a relay, third change the bulb to LED. Keep in mind that bad connections have high resistance and can cause a lot of heat in the cables when used...

Just checked voltage at the light and it's dropped to 11.5v, most likely lost through switches, fuse and connectors. The switches are new and most of the wiring and connectors, but it would be a good idea to fit a couple of relays to take the supply straight to the bulb. Would make it safer too.
