Margo and Wolfgang live in a Canadian Rocky Mountain Shanghai-La . Been through Naksup on HWY 6 BC a few times but could not stop because of my JOB demands. (Worked for Chromalloy as a Photographer)

Main reason I was in BC was to Ski the Mountains and see the West Coast. I was 24 at the time.

Wish I had stopped in Naksup back in 72 and booked SICK !

The Canadian Rockies have more then enough roads and they're all Dangerous!

I'm sure Jim can't contest to that.

I did the Whisler skiing a while back, such beauty to see. Also been reading lots of thread on Adventure Rider about trips through Canada to Alaska, seems very popular. One of the Sydney blokes is there doing Glacier National Park at the moment. He hired a bike this time but has shipped his BMW over and done the Alaska trip before. Must be good if you do it more than once, that's a big expense from Oz.

Whistler was in development back in 72 and shit compared to Sunshine and Norquay.

Other then the Sunshine Angle Face the Norquay North East Mogel Drop was the most demanding slope I've ever skid.

The Angel you simply fall off the mountain for a 1/2 mile in powder where as Norquay you have to ski it - 70 degrees straight down full of moguls for what seems a mile. One miss on a mogul and your DEAD - Dropping at the bottom of the run. With out a doubt one of the most dangerous ski runs in the world.

I did feel at home on Revelstoke being a Northern Ontarian Slalom Skier.

For competition I mounted 185's Castle Comp II's, Marker Rotor Mats and Norticia Boots with Scott Poles. I was 5'11" @ 138 lbs back then. Loved Rossingnol Strato 105's Equipe's Roosters for clowning around.

Never did get along with Look or Salomon as there equipment was too heavy and I keep breaking them or they would break me. Olin Ski's were descent.

I use to tie lead weights to compete against 180 pounders who used Look Equipment in Down Hill events to no avail as I usually just floated off the mountain - Not saying I did not win a Down Hill or two ;o)

Until your reply I had no idea who the target was.

Nothing special about suppliers threadshitting is specialist bike forums.  Most ban unless the supplier is paying sponsorship.

Pity suppliers here are not posting in a place like this  :-X:

DAM Classic Racing was the target.
An anonymous email was sent to DAMCR complaining about the computer generated shipping cost on a single decal, on the assumption that high priced shipping was poor customer service and worthy of a sharply worded email. A search of the Internet Shop orders for the email address turned up no previous orders.
If you care to go back through this thread you will see the courteous reply sent at the time, based on the knowledge as we knew it at the time.
We offer an olive branch to move forward and it is up to the receiver to accept or decline.

That same person posted on the forum again with the same complaint (hoping to be anonymous just as you have) in support of an on-going campaign of posts against DAM Classic Racing regarding the ridiculous notion that Forum members should go to eBay before checking with their local Laverda Dealer.

If you go to DAM Classic Racing website Homepage we make it very clear:

"SHIPPING NOTE: Occasionally certain combinations of goods may make the shipping cost appear higher than expected. We keep an eye out for this and refund the difference if you are overcharged by the computer calculation."
This is not hidden away, it is right on there on the Homepage, it has been there since the site was launched and many customers have sent a courteous email asking for the possibility of an alternative, or we see they have been overcharged by the computer, refund or make the suggestion of an alternative particularly on international freight.

A delightful turn of phrase for those companies who specialise only in Laverda, own Laverdas, work on Laverda everyday, have a wealth of knowledge, have invested hundreds of thousands of Dollars/Euro/GBP in parts and equipment, provide employment, and come on this forum simply to provide solutions to Laverda owners.
And we come on to the Forums without pretence or anonymity.
Ban them? Who on this forum has not benefited from the advice or parts supply from at least least one of these experts who happen to own or work for a Laverda business?

And would you say the same if a Business Owner was actually a moderator/administrator of a forum?

The only time a supplier can be accused of "threadshitting" (your words not mine) is when they post a blatantly fabricated claim simply to be contradictory to another suppliers solution, and then refuse to support their claim when challenged.
Most times suppliers endeavour to be supportive of each other because they they know they have a point of difference because of the type of specilisation, shop type, or location/country that they are in. They exchange and stock complimentary parts, they sell to each other and to other bike shops who happen to have a Laverda in for service.

The very bikes we love will disappear, sit broken down rotting in garages if the future supply of Laverda parts is not taken up by businesses who are also members of forums. The first point of advice on any forum should be to direct members to the specialists who know the bike, not to eBay.

Diablo Loco, if you have a Laverda then please read this without prejudice, the only reason DAM Classic Racing exists is to keep Laverdas running and provide as many OEM specification parts as possible. The Letter To Customers on this webpage is my philosophy. Perhaps it should be displayed on the Homepage and not hidden in Shipping.

Now you have really pissed me off. If everything was anonymous how the hell did you get my name. You really are a tool. Any chance of you ever having business from me has evaporated completely.

My last post on this matter and on this forum.

I've no clue what you Guy's are talking about.

All I know is that Wolfgang supplied me with Top Quality Rings and Pistons that saved my SF0 at one time plus a Gasket Kit, Fork Seals and Clamps for a very reasonable price back in 2005 and it was pleasure to deal with Him and Margo.

Do not understand why a Head Light Pod inquiry came to this point?

Can an administrator please shut the gate and hang a padlock on this thread. All the info about LEDs has come and gone and nothing more is to be gained.
