Until your reply I had no idea who the target was.
DAM Classic Racing was the target.
An anonymous email was sent to DAMCR complaining about the computer generated shipping cost on a single decal, on the assumption that high priced shipping was poor customer service and worthy of a sharply worded email. A search of the Internet Shop orders for the email address turned up no previous orders.
If you care to go back through this thread you will see the courteous reply sent at the time, based on the knowledge as we knew it at the time.
We offer an olive branch to move forward and it is up to the receiver to accept or decline.
That same person posted on the forum again with the same complaint (hoping to be anonymous just as you have) in support of an on-going campaign of posts against DAM Classic Racing regarding the ridiculous notion that Forum members should go to eBay before checking with their local Laverda Dealer.
If you go to DAM Classic Racing website Homepage we make it very clear:
"SHIPPING NOTE: Occasionally certain combinations of goods may make the shipping cost appear higher than expected. We keep an eye out for this and refund the difference if you are overcharged by the computer calculation."
This is not hidden away, it is right on there on the Homepage, it has been there since the site was launched and many customers have sent a courteous email asking for the possibility of an alternative, or we see they have been overcharged by the computer, refund or make the suggestion of an alternative particularly on international freight.

Nothing special about suppliers threadshitting is specialist bike forums. Most ban unless the supplier is paying sponsorship.
A delightful turn of phrase for those companies who specialise only in Laverda, own Laverdas, work on Laverda everyday, have a wealth of knowledge, have invested hundreds of thousands of Dollars/Euro/GBP in parts and equipment, provide employment, and come on this forum simply to provide solutions to Laverda owners.
And we come on to the Forums without pretence or anonymity.
Ban them? Who on this forum has not benefited from the advice or parts supply from at least least one of these experts who happen to own or work for a Laverda business?
And would you say the same if a Business Owner was actually a moderator/administrator of a forum?
The only time a supplier can be accused of "threadshitting" (your words not mine) is when they post a blatantly fabricated claim simply to be contradictory to another suppliers solution, and then refuse to support their claim when challenged.
Most times suppliers endeavour to be supportive of each other because they they know they have a point of difference because of the type of specilisation, shop type, or location/country that they are in. They exchange and stock complimentary parts, they sell to each other and to other bike shops who happen to have a Laverda in for service.
The very bikes we love will disappear, sit broken down rotting in garages if the future supply of Laverda parts is not taken up by businesses who are also members of forums. The first point of advice on any forum should be to direct members to the specialists who know the bike, not to eBay.
Diablo Loco, if you have a Laverda then please read this without prejudice, the only reason DAM Classic Racing exists is to keep Laverdas running and provide as many OEM specification parts as possible. The
Letter To Customers on this webpage is my philosophy. Perhaps it should be displayed on the Homepage and not hidden in Shipping.
