Lets Have a Tyre Thread.

I am running my usually oddball tyres. After using Bridgestone BT 020, 022, and 023 which are now replaced by their T30 sports touring radials. That's a 110/80 Z. I was using 34psi for a while but on a recent ride I upped this to 37 and got a much more stable bike.
That tyre is now toast and the bike has developed a slow weave and I have the same coming but now called T30 Evo , suppose to be better in the wet. What I want for the rear is the same but in a 140/70. Available worldwide except Australia, last November I asked the distributor to bring a couple in and hopefully tomorrow I will find out if he did. If not its back to the Sports Demon Pirelli. The rear I run at 40psi.

I'm running T30 Evo's on the Triumph. Done a couple of thousand K wet and dry. Seem to be every bit as good as the previous version that I got 9700K out of.

bt 45,s-40 rear -37 front, these fuckers weigh 230 kilo, add 100k of rider and gear -works for me.when i first bought me jota ,i ran bevel pressures( 36 r-34 f) and wondered why i got only 4 odd thou kays and front scalloping-the ex pres sent me in the right direction

Thanks, that was the answer I was after. Will give those pressures a go next time out.

"T30 sports touring radials."
High pressures are normal in modern radials. The pressure Vince is running are as recommended for my VFR and it doesn?t like pressures as would be used in non radial.

Just spoke to the Bridgestone distributor, he ordered a couple of T30 140/70 R18 but the factory cancelled the order. I need to ring again at the end of July as the next delivery is 3 months off. I could order one from England Italy or the USA from eBay but with a $150 delivery charge. I also could use there 150 but my rim is too small for that size and it is too big for a 3C swingarm.

A 150 easily fits in my 3CL swingarm, similar to a 3C swingarm.
Just need correct width rim and to move the chain outboard slightly but no swingarm clearance issue.

I thought that RGS swingarms were wider and you needed that to go 150. It's a bit academic as I have a 3.00 rim and that's a bit narrow for a 150 tyre.

My SF runs a 160 x 17 (which measures over at 164mm) and there is no issue with the swingarm - same swingarm as a triple 3C and eq (maybe the smaller dia helps with clearance?). Chain clearance beyond 160mm measured is a prob.

I agree a 150 on a 3 inch rim is not a good idea.

So the weave is gone, probably fixed by the new tyre but maybe the new wheel bearings helped as well.

Can't be a stock SF/1/2 swingarm then.  The 750 swingarms are slightly wider at mid-length, ie, the "taper" is shorter and affords more clearance for the tyre.  SF3 shared the swingarm with the cast wheel triples.

Easy mod to get more tyre clearance on a triple...

Ah, didn't know that they were a tad different, Piet. Always assumed the factory wouldn't have doubled up on 'common' parts. Gracias for the info. Innaresting ... wonder why??
