LH handlebar switch

All sorted chaps.
Once that black/white wire was earthed properly to the chassis, everything worked fine. Even the dual Voxbells work now which they?ve never done before...?make a bloody racket!

Nice work - just been looking at my own ND switch and trying to remember what so many wires are for. I also have an aftermarket cheapo that has less functions, but TWELVE wires?!!

?Spoke too soon.
All put back together but now it blows the 8A fuse when you flip from Low to Main beam  ::)

Then you've got a short somewhere in the main beam circuit... simple, innit? :D

Not quite sure with these switches, but some switches can have both filaments active just when swapping between beams, to prevent completely unloading the charging circuit which can damage some particular systems, an 8A fuse might not carry that load. If it works on either high, or low, without blowing the fuse, this may be the case.

Dead right. I've sometimes held the switch between high and low to get the double beam. You can see that the contacts for H and L overlap when switching between the two. Relays are a must anyway.
