Lock for RGS Executive luggage rack

Do you mean the actual key and the cylinder is worn or the actual locking mechanism.....the flat slide into the hinged arm? On mine I often have to use my finger to guide the slide into the slot.....been like that since new I think.
 
I'd take the piece to a decent locksmith. I'm not familiar with the part but Laverda only made a few hundred of those at most, surely they will have adapted some generic lock from a tool box or a filing cabinet or some such. I reckon a locksmith with some experience would look at it and say "ahh yes, same as XYZ, we've got plenty of those".
 
Ah yes, the RGS with factory saddlebags, the only motorcycle needing five keys on the ring to operate - ignition, steering lock, seat cover lock, saddle bag retainer locks and saddle bag opening locks (oh perhaps I need another cable lock to prevent roll-away and retain my helmet too?) - what were they thinking? I've mislaid that key ring - oh s**t, that's a lot of locksmith time! Even the much-maligned Zane factory guys had one key to fit all three locks on their bikes!
 
Hello. thanks for the responses to my question. I managed to buy my executive from a collector who had exhibited him in the cafeteria of his company for 10 years. with a heavy heart (he had several laverdas to show through his company) he sold it to me. during the winter of 2019 I checked the complete engine checked and replaced everything needed to get it back on the road reliably and safely . the keys to the locks on the pannier rack where missing and the locks were worn out. the local locksmith could not help me. in the meantime I had already drilled out the locks, I was convinced that I could buy them new. after many evenings of searching the internet I found them complete with slidebar on a site of moore industrial hardware in Cincinnati. after emailing back and forth I could not buy the locks and have them shipped to the Netherlands. not even if I paid the money in advance. is there maybe a forum member in america who can help me ?.

I took mine to a locksmith, when I returned to collect them, he had drilled out the cylinders, destroying everything, stupid fucker.

The lock is held in place with a tiny roll pin, or similar. Impossible to remove without destruction. I was lucky to find a NOS carrier set complete with locks AND keys at the Imola jumble a few years ago. Actually at the very first stall I stopped at after entering the venue!
