Locktite for cam flange studs sf

I have never lactated them (which is autocorrected), nor have I Loctited them. I sourced those great little Schnoor washers from OCT on the last motor I did.

Loctite in this application is a right pain in the arse... for the next person that needs to work on it.

New Schnoor washers in place of the original serrated/star items is the way to go.

Thanks, I have the Schnoor washers. Will put them on. Next is the rockers & spindles...Won't be until next wk before I can get to it...

Besides most fit for metal adhesives fail at 90 degrees plus or minus some degrees. Tested on my hot jig here back in the day. How you release "loctite" adhesives, on a fastener system, by heating the parts. Most parts release quickly at 120 degrees C, ditto Nyloc nuts, the nylon friction/vibration effect is gone by 90C. Possibly more modern engineering materials may exceed these parameters, unbeknown to myself. j

be wary if buying Shnoor washers, I bought a bag of 200 and they were an imperial equivalent of the required 5mm and dont go over the studs, I sent them back and complained but didnt even get a reply, a UK stckist that I have forgotten, it was only last year but I am senile.

in this case much cheaper to buy what you need from OCT.
