Lowering Marzocchi Forks

Bearing in mind that the later Marzocchi forks are longer than the earlier Ceriani ones, does anybody know how far you can lower the yokes down the stanchions?
I would like to fit some clip-on handlebars above the top yoke but I don't know if it would be practical as I don't want the mudguard to clout the exhausts. The bike is a 1200.

30mm or so won't be a problem but you will need to eat more spinach to put it on the centrestand.

Or just fit RGS forks as they have the same travel but are around 30mm longer as the RGS has clip ons above the top yoke.
No centrestand issues then.

I don't like the height of the Marzocchi bikes at the front, I'm thinking of how I can get the effect I want without spending any cash ha ha! I already have the clip ons somewhere.
By the way I might part with some cash for an early 1000 frame if you have one.

Cerianis are shorter than Marzocchis.
So keep the Marzocchis, raise them to allow clip ons  and still have Ceriani length fork action, and fit a Ceriani type centrestand.
Problem solved.
I always felt the lower front end of Ceriani forked triples gave better feel and handling, independent of suspension quality comparison between the 2 makes.

Question ....... are the triple clamps / yokes geometry different between the Ceriani and Marzocchi front ends? I know that the Ceriani 3C I have has the yokes machined so that the forks angle back to give it more trail ........ and perhaps a miniscule bit of increased ground clearance. Do the Marzocchi yokes have the same geometry?
I would like to get some SFC yokes for my 3C to quicken the steering a wee bit.

Pretty sure the Marzos are machined parallel..
I have a set of ceranis, the NOS top yoke r/h fork bore is about 10? difference to the l/h so have been thinking of having it welded as well as the lower yoke stem hole and them having them all rebored parallel. Anybody done this mod?

That's good to know Grant. Have a mate who has a well equip engineering workshop who could do it for me when he's not overly busy and I'm in no hurry so I may drop them off to him.
Had thought about having him make me a new set out of billet but the programing is time consuming so this would be the easier and less time consuming option.

Remove stem, weld holes in top and bottom yoke, line bore parallel.
The new hole on the top yoke ended up offset as seen in the photo.
Fork stanchions now parallel with steering head.
