Lucas left hand light switch 750SF1

Can anyone advise how the central ‘blade’ switch functions. My switch seems to click up but spring back without clicking when pushed down. Is this correct?
If so how does high beam stay on?

I assume the lower push button is the flasher.

It should stay put in both high and low beam. It might be damaged inside the switch. I seem to recall that they are quite fiddly to work on so be careful.

Thanks Tippie. The two switches are different, have attached photo. The switch on the right clicks both ways, the other does not. I'll put the 'double clicker' (double throw) on the head light side as I'm not intending to have indicators fitted to start with. I suspect the single throw switch may be legacy British bike?
I know you can buy the kit to replace the switches but at £25 it'll have to wait.

OK doh!
All of the above ignorant of the fact that the lights go on at the ignition switch so my switches were correct presumably with the ‘rocker’ single throw switch for the flasher.

I’m always in a rush that my problem
