Lucas switch gear screws.

could be 6BA, a very old English metric system for tiny screws, predating "normal" metric by 100 years

se chart

Hi Shaun ,I may have some screws removed from my A65 ,I think a firm called TRICOR ANDY supply new switches , not sure if they would be compatible with a Laverda ,I will have a look tomorrow and let you know

Yep that's the Allen head Screws I bought from Rastall Nuts and Bolts - Amazing it still exists ;o)

Clem: Ever hear of the Mandela Effect - I know for certain my Canadian 70 750 SF0 registered as a 73 was one of 200 imported to Canada which took 2 years to pass Import Laws as parts in a wooden crate. You can easily see it's NOT a 73.

Whatever the Breganzie Factory threw together for parts in that prioritized crate destined for Canada for $3300 was an attempt to win over the $1100 Honda 750CB - Obviously it failed and 200 dissembled 750SF's literately sold for something like $1600 or simply dissipated. The buyer had to assemble it.

Here's a PIC of a 71 Model with the DGM Pipes, Vegla Gauges, BOSCH head lamp and the infamous Ignition Key Switch:

You will NOT find these in Canada - My crate package came with ND Gauges.

The Canadian Basket Breganzie 750 SFO's where like this:

Note the ND gauges and 2" 32mm Open Carb Stacks.

The screws in that photo look too coarse to be BA or BSC. Not sure what other coarse threads the diabolical old pommies used back in the day.

Rebuilding dad's velo has so far shown up BSW BSF BSC and BA. Madness.

Observation... my phone repeatedly auto corrects 'screws' into 'actress'.  : :-X

I found similar crazy coarse thread in a Lockheed master cylinder.

Steve you probably have a self learning spell checker.  :D

Lucas Controls do NOT have the Clutch Switch wiring to engage the starter relay only when the clutch lever is depressed. I highly suggest that you ground the starter relay through the tranny neutral switch to prevent blowing up the starter using the Lucas Controls.

DO NOT depend on the starter Dogs to prevent a Starter Blow Up if you accidentally hit the starter button while motoring. A loose Breganzie Starter Clutch Back Plate is an another story; however, related to starter Blow Ups on early 750S's and SF's using the Lucas Handle Bar Controls.

You do not want to pay to replace that expensive Bosch or NP Starter on your SF when a wiring FIX is obvious.

Makes wonder why they just did not put a magneto in the Breganzie 750 SFC for racing and save approx 30Lbs by eliminating both the Starter and Generator  - Why need a Battery - All you need a Bar Maid to push your Magneto Ride in the Morning to get to work ;o)

Thankfully but for this Forum a little history about them screws and how they will Screw You ;o)

Been there Dellorotaman on a 69 650 Triumph where as my 750 Breganzie just puked!

The Breganzie needs a Generator and Battery to spark her where as the 69 650 Triumph only needs a Zener Diode to get her running + shes gotta kicker. One of the sweetest rides I've ever ridden was the 69 Triumph 650 Bonneville - Bitch to start with them Amal Carbs ;o)
