M1R for seal removal

Hi all,
Been trawling back through posts looking for any tips to remove the fork seals from Sfc 1000, I am trying to avoid levering agains the to edge as it looks fragile,
Is there a trick to it or any any advice ?
I have the puller as in attached image,

Also, for standard setup, forks/springs etc how much oil is a good starting point?
Cheers,
Stuart

Hi all,
just checking the parts diagrams to make sure I have all the parts,
I can see a difference between a Marzocchi Manual for M1R (image 1) and the parts diagram from Andy at Paradies (image 2)
WS Manual says: bush - washer - fork seal - snap ring - washer - dust seal, only seems to shows left fork leg,
Andy-Paradies shows: bush - fork seal - snap ring - washer - dust seal, for both left and right, although different part numbers.
i.e 1 less washer,
any idea which is right for SFC1000 1986 cast wheel,

plus, the 2 x screws that go up above the spindle, has washers in the parts diagrams,
neither of mine have washers, are these required?
thanks very much for any pointers,
Stuart

the link to the manual was posted on here:

Look out for BMW fork seals, I think from the K100 series. They have 41,7mm, too, and are locally available normally... readily available on eBay and the likes... if you can get the green ones from SKF, they shall have less friction and last longer. Not sure they make them in 41,7mm though...

dust covers are also available normally from BMW or for BMW on eBay etc.

And while you are at it: There is an alloy part (#170 in the drawing above) hiding in the right lower leg that you can push out from the under side (carefully, with a piece of wire or very, very gently with a screwdriver. There is a lot of dirt hiding below it which should be cleaned, as well as the - if it's a M1R fom a 1000 SFC) adjuster on the right leg. easily pulled and dismanteled, cleaned and put together with new seals (O-Rings IIRC).

Part Number 180 and 161 are not installed in every fork as the early ones did not have this "guide". They can be metal parts, better if they are made of Teflon I think (like in the BMW forks). If you have a later fork which has them, check they are not scratched inside.
