main and idle jet for trumpets

Hi!

I've been trying to find an old topic but I didn't, if somebody knows it, I am happy to read it through.

The standard setting for the 32 carburetors for the 1000/1 are 118 and 55, with the air filter. If I install trumpets, lets say 45mm long (I don't know if it plays a role), which jets should I install at first to start with? or what jet setting are you using for such configuration?

Regards and thank you very much for your help!
Miguel.

I put them on my triple, no jetting changes required. But, I could be wrong......... bike was sold and by all accounts the valve springs were a little lazy.

Maybe it was running a little hot, but it did spend a lot of time past the factory suggested gear change guide...... errr, redline. But, when you pass redline in top gear, doesn?t that render the gear change guide pointless? :D

I've experienced the more open your exhaust pipes are the richer your main jets have to be.

Better to run you bike rich then lean at Hi-RPM's.

I ran 132 main jets with open mouth VBH 30A's with 2 into 1 pipes approaching 8000rpm with my 70 Breganzie SF0 for over 800 miles.

Solid - No melted pistons at over 120 Mph +.

Had a 650 Bonny, 750 Norton Commando and a Kawasaki 900 - Could not beat my 70 SF0 - Not even a 72 Ducati 750S could  ;o)

You do get a bit of adjustability in the pilot system using the mixture screw - if that doesn't achieve what you need, then you can go up (or down??!!) one size in pilot jet.
