Marzocchi fork damper assembly

It's been a while since I had to rebuild one to std (usually just convert to emulators) but here's a photo of one found last time...DELME FORK 2.jpg
 
Hi Maurice, depends which bike they're going on. RGS's have the piston as shown in the diagram, upside down, or open side facing up.
Opposite to the photo.
 
I think there was an undocumented change as far as I can tell. The piston was the way you have it shown in early versions but it also had a heavy washer (item 33) directly between the piston and top out spring to protect the thin edge. later they took the washer out and turned the piston up the other way, so the top out spring sat on the solid flat face. As shown in the parts diagram above. early diagrams have the washer with piston up the other way. PS make sure you get item 36 the right way up. seen so many wrong way or one side one way one the other
