Marzocchi M1R fork parts being discontinued?

I emailed Wolfgang for parts to rebuild a set of Marzocchi M1R forks on my SFC1000. He said the dust seals were no longer available as Marzocchi had discontinued making them. As this is probably one of the most common parts on these forks that gets replaced, I am worried that everything else for the M1R will also be discontinued or already has. All the other parts he had in stock so does not know what he can still order.

Luckily the BMW K1100RS also used M1R forks so I ordered the seals from BMW.

Now my BMW dealer said that the USA warehouse only had 36 dust seals left in stock and I ordered four of them.

If you have a bike with M1R forks, I recommend you get all the parts you can while they are still available.

Wolfgang said Marzocchi no longer make the dust seals. He also checked with Ducati and Moto Guzzi part suppliers and they don't have them either. BMW at the moment is the only source.

He had the oil seals in stock so does not know if he can still order any more.

My concern is if the most common part that gets replaced on the forks is no longer available it would seem to indicate that Marzocchi will soon if not already are discontinuing all the M1R parts. I hope I am wrong.

It's getting difficult to find parts for the SFC1000. Wolfgang also said the front 14mm master cylinder rebuild kits are no longer available and the rear master cylinder is no longer available.

I tried to find some fork tubes for my [free] Paso, and ended up having them metal sprayed with stainless and ground to size to fill the rust craters in them. Luckily they weren't bent.
 
One has to wonder the date stamp on the dust covers BMW yet stocks, which at $37-plus apiece aren't cheap. Alternative BMW listings include wunderlichamerica.com which advertises them for $24.95 apiece "from the original manufacturer" - presumably Marzocchi - and All Balls Racing, which advertises a dust boot/seal kit (Kit #56-162, 2 seals, 2 boots) for $49.01, source unknown. For what it's worth, I've used All Balls seals/boots on several '70s Japanese bikes and the quality appeared to be excellent; good fit and no subsequent leakage. My Paso 750 could use new dust boots so I ordered the All Balls set as an experiment to see if I can assess quality.

Wolfgang said he was not aware of anyone but BMW who still had them but was going to talk to a Marzocchi expert in Italy to see what was going on with M1R parts.

Wolfgang was selling the dust seals for $10 each compared to $38 each at BMW.

I am always amazed how Wolfgang's prices are so much cheaper than any other parts supplier.

Forgot to note I received the seal kit from All Balls Racing, which included two main seals and two dust seals. Made in Taiwan, comparison with original shows specs to be spot on - as much as one can deduce when measuring flexible components. I expect they'll be just fine.

FWIW, when servicing my Paso's M1R forks a few years back I initially sourced fork seals from Ariete (#ARI.028), a respected (or so I've been led to believe) Italian seal manufacturer. Try as I might, they would not press into the stanchions without some deformation. Assuming user/installer error I ordered another set. Same issue.

For giggles, I ordered a pair of fork seals through Bikemaster. Also Taiwanese. $3.95 each. They fit perfectly, zero issues and it's been 2-plus years. Go figure. Dust seals were still in good shape, so I reused them, but now I have a full set of spares. FYI, Bikemaster listing is apparently no longer available.
