master cylinder mirror thread size

Hi just refurbing my solid type master cylinder off my 3c and the thread has been stripped in the mirror mount can anyone tell me what the thread should be so I can helicoil it.

M10 x 1.5 originaly I think, but you may as well helicoil it to suit whatever mirror you intend to fit?

If you helicoil it to 10*1.25mm it will take the range of mirrors for the jap bikes - the later M/cyls were this thread - Regards - Phil

The early solid cyl has the wrong thread(1,5 pitch) for mirrors that fit a m/cyl late enough to be matched with an hydraulic clutch one (1.25pitch) - unless it's been modded to suit - Regards - Phil
