The only people I recognised were Arther Blizard, who headed the Auto Cycle Union, love the name of the Governing Body of racing and Moira, who was Ron Boldens Mum and ran Wellbacks the Bike Accessory place in Willaby where I bought my first Belstaff Jacket and my Ashmans boots. I really wanted Sidis but couldn't afford them.

I saw Wally Campbell in the pits crowd somewhere, obviously before he had his crash.

Saw Damien Codognotto, head honcho of the MRA (Motorcycle Riders Association, aka The Motor Cycle Red Army or the Monkey Rooters Association).

Yes and he is still around in Vic bike politics, there are some intensely ugly threads about the rivalry between him and others in bike politics on other forums these days. Not my cup of tea. I did all the protest rides in the 70s, the only thing that stirred me recently was some changes to Insurance that almost sneaked through NSW Parlament, it was stopped with help from The Shooters and Fishers Party and The Motorcycle Council.

Was in the MRA in the early eighties when Ross Goodman was NSW Prez. Attended the first Toy Run to the Opera House (all of twenty of us), The Harbour Bridge toll protest when the toll was 20 cents for cars and 5 cents for bikes, hard to believe, haven't got a clue what it is now.
Left the MRA when things started to get a bit heavy.
