Has some bugger has tapped into the Laverda Forum?

My connection to the forum has been playing up over the last couple of weeks. Waiting to reload, just going nowhere, etc. other sites are fine. Is it just me?

I’m blaming Ron for all his drug taking recollections, and the eavesdroppers are mistaking algorithms for alcoholism. Honestly officers, we are just a bunch of old folk reliving our youth, leave us alone and go catch some baddies.

Happy to let Ron score the heat on this one - when is he going to ever settle down?

Same problem for maybe a week, 10 days now. Very long in connecting or posting. Posting sometimes impossible. Both on laptop and smartphone.

YOGI: Cannabis is legal in Canada. We can talk about it and use it recreational in a responsible manner similar to the use of alcohol. Personally I've had no inclination to use it since I was in my twenties.

I suggest you try recycling your router, clear browser cookies and update your operating system. I've had no problems login into the forum and heaven knows where you been surfing ;o)

The site did appear down as a 404 error (site not found) for a few minutes a few days ago but I attributed that to Internet Node Splits due to heavy traffic. I used my VPN and on an alternate IP Address and it worked fine. A VPN App can work out a slow site issue most times as you are rerouting the Internet Node path..

It is possible your Windows OS could have a corrupted Windows Sockets API (WSA), known as Winsock

To check for file corruption in Windows at CMD Prompt type: SFC -SCANNOW
This should detect corrupt OS files and fix them - Including your Winsock Stack.
You can download Winsock from MS and run it to have the latest version for Windows.

Online apps like "Down or not right now"

and "IsIt Down"

gives you all the info regarding Server Status, Domain, Response Time and Response Code
plus a history when the sight was up or down.

Generally recycling the modem and router will overcome Internet Node Splits when traffic is heavy.

You can also check out a 403 forbidden error message here:

I'm honored that you actually read my crap ;o)

EDITED: I added the "modem" to be recycled along with the router, if you have one, when the Internet slows down on sites due to high traffic and Net Splits.

Thanks Ron, but I’m on an iPad, not Windows.. I get what you say about VPN’s and alternate IP addresses. Your comments on cannabis were interesting. Marijuana is not legal here in Australia recreationally, but there are certain medical exemptions under which it can be prescribed. So, not many people in Australia smoke it because you just can’t get it.

chuckling as I read your post that "you just can't get it"...... Cannabis is only recently legally available here in Canada. However, has always been freely available here in Canada going way back to my teen years and long before..... One of the problems for the government in rolling out taxed legal cannabis for a new tax revenue stream is that the non taxed "iilegal" supply is cheaper and still readily available. You obviously just need more friends in "low" places:giggle::giggle::giggle:o_O

It’s A$160 for 10g of sealed medically approved Beacon Medical’s Girl Scout Cookies here at present…
As to ‘friends in low places’, I obviously need to frequent a different forum..

Just to inform you that I have edited my post dated Dec 5th re:

Question: Where is the Laverda Forums Server located as the closer I get with an IP Address the faster the response time ?

I suspect Laverda Forums is located in Canada with compliments of Wolfgang and supervised by Paul ?

I'm still having problems. Impossible connection, unable to open posts. Maybe a problem with new posts coming in when I can connect.
I'm sure it's a problem with some kind of clock somewhere. The symptoms on my smartphone are the same.
Error messages when I try to post: "ooops, we ran into a problem. You must wait 172 seconds before trying again". Just now.

Paul Marx: I use a base Computer running Windows 10 21H2.

I loved Windows XP and Win7 and Win 10 got some use to learning.

Not likely to get into Windows 11 for a few years as it appears to be a FLOP !

that's a problem I have only ever encountered on European sites (don't know why)

Here's a weed infested garden not far from where I reside:

Skunky Field !

Just something I grew up with during the 50's - My Dutch Grandfather had that weed infestation around his pastures and my Grandmother said: "Will have you been into the Cat Nip" ;o)

Don't blame him after working the fields 12 hours a day until he died at 94.

Paul is correct the Canadian Gov't legalized weed in attempt to tax it. The problem is: It virtually grows wild all around us with a little help of cultivation.

Hell! Cannabis is NOT addictive where as Cigarettes and Booze is.

I get, an unexpected issue has occurred on my phone when I try on that. No issues with my laptop. I can connect on the phone but cannot log on. I have no idea if this is a phone issue or not. Its been like this for at least a month. Not a huge issue except when I was on The Snowy Ride and couldn't log on to post till I was home and used my laptop.

Can you use your phone with wifi off? I often do that in places with lousy weak wifi, almost nothing will download or open. I come nowhere near my quota of data for the phone plan so it makes no difference there, but websites open straight up. The phone can also be used as a hotspot for the laptop the same way. That way you will see if it is a wifi/router/modem or whatever issue.
