Mirage in forthcoming Auction. Undervalued????

Hi all.

Just noticed this in the H&H Auction taking place at the National Motorcycle Museum on 6th April.


I'm intrigued because I have one of these - see below. I think mine's a lot better but even so I would have thought the one in the auction would fetch more than £6000 to £7000, what do people think?

It’s a very nice looking bike and also looks like it’s had a fair bit of money spent on it BUT it’s not an original “Slater” Mirage, it’s a later TS Mirage that has been dressed to look like the earlier green Slater Mirage. So if you’re not a rivet counter nor fussy about originality then it could be a keenly priced bike. I think this bike was offered for sale recently at £7500 on the ILOC Forum.
 
Lucas indicators, what other details are wrong? Looks lovely though. If I had a 1200TS that looked like that I would be happy.

Sorry didn't realise the picture wasn't the sale bike.

Says he has Slaters confirmation letter!

Yes but confirmation of what? The Slater letter just states it is a bike first registered in the UK.
If you’re serious I’d recommend you speak to Richard Slater. When it was advertised earlier, the Seller confirmed it was originally a TS Mirage.
At an auction, you pays your money and takes your chance so best do your homework beforehand. If it was a genuine Slater green Mirage it would be in my garage now.

I'm not buying it - the 1978 one in the large photo is mine. I'm just interested in how much it goes for.
 
Hydraulic clutch; Later TS Mirage clocks.. Handlebar mounted choke; 4C cams? .. Rear shocks, more?...
Not bad though and certainly worth more than a std TS Mirage...:giggle::giggle:

Sold for £9430 a very good price considering commission to be added on.

yeah - always wondered why RGS and 1200's don't catch the money of a 3C, 3CL or a Factory Jota in terms of the 180° or even a 120° Jota sold higher than a RGS. The base is the same and you can change cosmetics at any time (even the engine of a 1200 is a good base for a tuned engine!). Markets... weird...
