Mirage metallic green paint colour (UK)

I need some touch up paint for stone chip on my 78 metallic green Mirage. Someone told me it's the same as a Kawasaki colour, I'm wondering if that's correct?
I can get a match from RS but they want £8 to post a tiny little bottle of paint costing £9, which is ridiculous. The paint supplier I usually use doesn't do Laverda paint colours & I can't seem to find anyone else who does.
I'm probably just being stingy & will end up getting it from RS but I thought I'd tap into the wealth of knowledge on here first.
Thanks
Geoff

I've not had the best of experiences with RS either but they are the only ones I can find doing Laverda colours. I normally use Bike Colours in Lancaster who I've found to be excellent, hence the query as to whether Laverda green is the same as Kawasaki green because I can get that from Bike Colours & they don't charge as much for postage as they do for the product!

It took Grant Duguid's painter a bit of experimentation to get the match right when he restored a Mirage I sold him. He couldn't find an off the shelf match anywhere. I remember using an old metallic green Austin Maxi colour to touch up another Mirage I had years ago.

Think the new Vauxhall Mocha in metallic green looks similar ,for whole bike painting though.£8 and do it Geoff ;)

I know, I'm being mean. It's the tiniest of chips on the tank & whatever I use it'll no doubt still be visible when it's been touched up, but I just resent paying that much for postage on principle!!!!!!

They had a little stand at Stafford once and I said to the guy that I thought their postage costs were too high, he said they were reasonable if you bought enough paint.

I had a paint shop just outside Brighton colour match a NOS side panel and have a little of the paint left.
If you only need a small amount for chip touch ups and I can find a suitable container I can send you some.
No guarantee that'll match your paint but...
Drop me a message if interested.

A good friend of mine did the tank and panels for Andy Bartlett's Mirage some years back. No chance that Ian the Spray has kept notes of the formulation but maybe Andy has?
Matching the granule size to get the right glitter effect of the metallic appearance is the tricky part rather than the colour matching per se.

I am, once again, working in the automotive paint world. Our main clients are F1, classic restoration and high end crash repair work...

Doh, by saying £8 you didn't mean £800 did you?
