Is there a sidestand option for the Mirage other than the Motalia one which caught on my centre stand?
There appears to be a locating lug but is this standard?

That mounting is not original as left the factory. The factory side stand is poorly conceived. However there is a reliable "turn-key" solution now marketed by Grant Duguid, LG Express, Scotland.

The Lug that you show on the frame is for the standard Laverda side stand which as i understand it was never to be relied on,
The stand that you purchased from Motalia is the same item as developed by Grant using a Jota Joe inspired fitting plate, these have been successfully fitted and used by many Laverda triple owners however there can be an issue with it fouling on the centre stand tang.

The fix for this is generally cutting the tang off and repositioning it out of the way of the side stand, leaving it off completely, modifying the fixing plate OR if you are really lucky like me......staring at it,figuring it out then using a high velocity but perfectly aimed tap with a hammer to give the necessary clearance (y)

If you have already purchased one I would stick with it,one of the best additions you can make to your bike.

The sidestand didn't improve on the 83 onwards RGA/RGS. My legs need to be 8 inches longer to reach the sidestand and flick it forwards!
I agree, but some very simple mods make it work extremely well. Non retracting and easy for a short arse like me to deploy. Optics take a slight hit but easily reverted and I'm happy with the compromise.
Detail here.

No need to cut the centre stand tang if you mount an extra plate to move the side stand mount back a couple of inches.
