Hello all, does anyone have a basic carb setting for the Delortos fitted to the Mk2 Monty

I have just had my carbs vapour blasted and the dismantling and cleaning revealed a number of issues which would have caused the original engine to run poorly

I have new seals, o-rings etc from Slaters so I going to replace everything

Can anyone tell me a basic setting for the mixture screws etc, I have not changed anything from original other than the bits that were removed for cleaning, so float heights etc should be good, I just need a starting point

Any guidance gratefully appreciated

Slater can advise on basic carb settings, but really the carbs will need fine tuned once the bike is restarted.
Needles and mains should be ok but pilot jets will likely need to be optimised.
Assuming of course the engine has not been tuned at some point.

NEVER assume float heights to be correct, ALWAYS check them!  Simply swapping the fibre gasket below the needle valve seat will alter the float height.

Always a a good idea to renew the needles and needle jets, these are the bits that wear the most and have the greatest influence on smooth running, as well as easing overall carb adjustment.

Start off with the needle in the middle notch, mixture screws 1.5-2 turns out from fully closed.  If all is well, you'll be in the ball park already.
