Hi all
I need a new regulator rectifier to replace the broken original on the 82 1200 TS Mirage Series 2. I am also thinking "while I am at it" I might as well replace the stator.
as I am "electrickery challenged" I did some web searching, dimly realized there are different ways to regulate alternator output after it is rectified, and that apparently a MOSFET equipped regulator is better.
Found a great thread here that explains everything in plain enough English that it made sense to me. Like anything on the internet I am not sure if it is a thousand percent accurate, but it makes sense to me

for my 82 1200 I want three phase rectification, so to connect one wire each to each of the three output wires from the stator, and a MOSFET equipped regulator.
that is where my question arises. What is available to buy for our Laverda's that will fit the bill? I don't care about wiring plugs, I will just cut the plug off and wire direct, I also don't care about a charging warning light. So I just need three wires for the stator, a power out to the battery, and a ground.
I would rather buy new. Electrex/Electrosport don't seem to be using MOSFET technology as far as I can see, or if they are I missed it.
Ricks Motor Sport Electrics appears to offer SOME of their rr's with MOSFET technolgogy but I have not figured out which one to order to suit my intended use on the Laverda http://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com/rectifier-regulators Anyone?
Also, if I replace the stator what is the equivalent, I heard the Laverda factory just used Suzuki stuff, what year/model Suzuki stator would fit? Alternatively, what would the best stator available be for the 82 1200?
