In racing, has nothing to be embarrassed about. We all slow down as we age, he just slowed down from 320kph to 310kph, good for him I say.

I hope he becomes as successful as a manager as Agostini did with Team Marlboro. I also hope he ends this season on a high and not another stretcher as we all know this sport can be pretty brutal.
I think he kinda invented the modern era. I really enjoyed watching him ride and also the sense of fun he brought to the whole game.
We all have our time at the top of the mountain and he certainly did that on the track, (my peak lasted about 4 minutes in 1980, Tina was her name
) but Rossi will now find another mountain to climb. I hope it will be in bike racing somehow.

Don´t their engines tolerate being held on the rev limiter? An excuse to get rid of him I reckon. He was leaving anyway because from one day to the next he came either front or back of the field with absolutely no idea why. It seemed like he was trying to salvage whatever possible despite the electronics stuff-up. Neither he nor Yamaha have handled it well at all. I seem to remember some Ducati riders trying to blow up their bike, unsuccessfully, way back when, creating a legend.

Yes. Good race tactics. He took a big risk but it paid off. Looked like he was riding on ice. He did well to keep it shiny side up.

Personally, I'm dubious a bevel could do 900km without needing at least one crank rebuild, but sorta cool none the less:

Come on, I did Jacca, Spain to Lolme, Sth France in 5 hours (no motorways) ............. 9 hours! Where in the South of France does Zarco live? Calais????Personally, I'm dubious a bevel could do 900km without needing at least one crank rebuild, but sorta cool none the less:
