But distances are small when events in countries in continental Europe are only a few hundred kilometers apart - no air shipments needed between events.
Kudos though to the DHL teams who do get them moved inter-continental with all that equipment between events; the Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia sequence does look like a logistics challenge!
 
Travel time between events one week apart is Sunday night to Thursday night. The season goes from the 2nd of March in Thailand to the 16th of November in Spain. They earn their money these days. Between travel, setting up the pits and racing on Saturday and Sunday, gruelling.
 
Are there any bits that actually come on the production bike they're supposed to represent? Think about all that fancy stuff gettin trashed when one of these goes down the road and flips! Can't be that far away from MotoGP in almost every respect.

There have been some crazy old-school high sides in Moto GP and Superbikes in their pre-season practice days. Unusual with all the electronics these days.
 
Moto GP, Qatar, Vinales was robbed of his well-earned second-place finish, and what a sham. Has any other rider ever been penalized using this ridiculous tire pressure ruling that was applied to Vinales? Vinales KTM was the fastest bike (top speed) on the track.
It was great to see Jorge Martin back on a bike, but it was obvious he was not fit to be on a MotoGP bike. Jorge was fortunate to survive the crash (again), with 6 broken ribs resulting in a Hemo/pnuemo-thorax after falling and being hit by a following rider, lucky to be alive.
Marquez #93 is an assassin, amazing to watch, but some of the closest racing battles are happening in the midfield.
 
Yes I am pretty sure quite a number of riders have been hit with penalties and the rule seems like excessive erring on the side af caution. I think that the riders get a dashboard warning for tyre pressure. In Motomatters.com there is a very good discussion around it. Michelin has tried to introduce a new front tyre but apparently the teams have not wanted to test it. Whether it is any better with Pirelli we will have to see, they have had compulsory pit stops to change tyres already in SBK.
 
The more things change, way way back when the sustained huge speeds at the Daytona 200 got too much for tyres, they turned it into 2 100-mile races. Tyre changes in Moto GP, ok.
 
Well they seem to manage riding Superbikes at high speed for two laps (76miles) on a tyre at the TT, although Dunlop (the tyre manufacturer rather than the mental northern Irishman) did have an issue a couple of years ago.
And the top speed at the NW200 is probably higher still.
 
Talk about governing cats, they brought in a new rego after that last couple of weeks back absolute Fiasco, he is so impressive why the need to borderline cheat. So now abandon the start grid gets 2 ride throughs. All in all my thoughts, last night it all went as Profesinal as it could considering the weather with a supremely fair result. No spoilers from me.
 
That was a helluva race! Very pleased with the winner, very deserving. Other podium finishers also. Highly recommended viewing!
 
Yep a pretty crazy race. Never seen so many tyre changes in one race before.
With all those double long lap penalities had no ifea who was leading for a while there
Bagnia really fucked up pitting for slicks then pitting again for wets.
Real happy for Zarco.

I was told by the guys at Varano that Dean Harrison was hitting nigh on 210mph on his Honda at the NW200. Mind blowing stuff on a street circuit.
 
Every time I see footage of the NW I shake my head in disbelief. Wave to the cows as you go past at 340kph! Can't think of many Oz roads that would allow racing at those speeds ...
