I had a Witt ignition system on my old RGA Jota Sprint which was doing a lot of farting about, coughing, spitting and cutting out but found out that the fault was with the regulator/rectifier, replaced that and everything worked fine.

it helps if we know what country you are in ?

for example, if you are Aussie or NZ based than I will post you a working DMC 2 box to try as long as it is returned, it is not for sale, I have both 180 and 120 DMC 2 boxes in stock that I removed from different bikes so we could install a fully programmable ignition
I also stock brand new IIS and Sachse 180 and 120 ignition boxes for testing purposes that people can borrow on a return basis but I do not wish to supply these boxes to the whole world
