motogp (where's Tina?)

Absolutely faultless riding from Morbi and Miller. What a last three laps. Jack had a red hot go but Franco was insanely good under the pressure and deserved the win. Mir and Suzuki also well deserved champs. Excellent season!

I read that MM has had another problem requiring a third operation, which will set him back well into next year's season  if true.

Who would have thought that Fabio Q would show nerves that much over the course of the season? At the beginning of the season he was strong, then, as the season progressed, there was an opposite exchange with his team-mate Franco M. The way Franco showed finest ?Brazilian concentration? twice was great! Fabio will replace Vale in the factory team, where a new job awaits him together with Maverick. Maverick has somehow remained colorless for me, and not just since this season, he hasn?t met the No. 1 expectations.

Suzuki did an honest job, collecting points as often as possible. Despite the initial shoulder injury, Rins finished second in the World Cup. A team apparently without any fuss and airs that you see elsewhere. I indulge Suzuki and Joan Mir this title!

Andrea D was runner-up for a long time, but somehow, he doesn't seem to give everything anymore. Presumably he doesn't feel like holding up his ass for (arrogant?) Giggi. At least that's my impression. Whether Jack Ass and Bagnaia will bring in a breath of fresh air to this team next year - I'm not sure ...

KTM has done really well, I liked Pol E a lot, even though he often comes across as a little hotly for me. I really liked Brad Binder and particularly Miguel O this season. By the way, Pol now only calls Miguel "Einstein" after Miguel advised him after the last Spielberg event of using his brain more ...

You've probably noticed that Honda doesn't even appear in my post. It is at least very noticeable that if their dominator is missing, apparently no one else is in the position to regularly drive into the points with this machine.

Indeed, there was a photo showing a bad break of the bone and metal structure but it was not clear if this was the earlier re-break or the new one.
If a new break then I think that bone are will be a permanent weak spot. If he can break it with the scaffolding in place I am not sure it would survive a high speed tumble.

As long as he was winning, which he usually was, HRC had no wish to soften the bike to suit other riders. Not even Crutchlow could get near his times and race pace week in, week out.
I think this year they have softened it, as both Nakagami and AM suddenly made a big jump up the timing sheets.
If MM is out for a longer time they will need to replace him, Dovi anyone? He is after all an ex-HRC rider.

Taka has done pretty good this season - he seems to have figured the Honda out in MM's absence.

Hello Andy,
of course, you are right! Taka was good, Alex M too, but I deliberately exaggerated a bit, as the dominance of the last few years was simply missing - this was what I wanted to point out!

MM #93 is back on the top step of the podium, twice in one weekend, absolutely annihilating the competition with a 'Master Class' demonstration of how to go fast. Marquez dominated the weekend with an opening of putting fear into the eyes of the young guns with his insane qualifying times. Yeah, that's the way you do it, it brought to my mind the bravery and skill he brought to the GP in 2013, his Rookie season when he won his first GP Championship. Domination of the Sprint and GP race, pure joy to watch his skills et al.

Yep, Dave - was a super weekend for MM. Augurs well for riding with/against Baggy next year.
A big ask, but hope he can repeat it for us at the Island in a few weeks! Baggy Pants’ fragility is being exposed, we’re set for a spicy couple of weekends.

Bags had a horror start off the line - rear wheel spun up and snaked all over the shop while the field rode away. Something not quite right with the traction control/start function there!!

I’m hoping the new rules will bring things a bit closer to riding than piloting. Sure, these are supposed to be pushing the limits of technology but I feel that it’s sometimes to the detriment of the racing. Just an opinion!

Bags, in an interview, said THEY were supposed to clean the starting grid road after his spinning on the Sprint race start. THEY were the locals. You know, where Mark is KING. Once is an accident, twice? Round 2 for controversy: Bags was well past Mark's brother when the torpedo was launched. This stuff sells papers. Racing is getting really good now.

I think Bags was lucky he didn’t get hurt that bike on top of him was a period - glad both got up and walked away - great to see Dixon win the Moto 2 race - we need some Brit interest in the big class

I think it was last year, when I read Marquez was moving to Ducati, I said if he’s fit and well the rest won’t see which way he went. Now he’s had a bit of time on the bike, the prediction seems to be coming true.
Let’s see if Martin and Pecco can up their game to keep the races interesting.
