Motorcyclist death

A horrific story, Unfortunotely the worst combination of someone with an obvious addiction problem and heavy machinery. The murderer will have his time in prison to reflect on his deed (unless he's a narcissistic sociopath), but the family of the victim will have to endure their grief for a lifetime. One just hopes karma will visit the murderer.

I know we all hear about accidents involving cyclists, especially from our helpful friends and family that want to "Warn" us. Here is a news item a cyclist friend sent me.

My suggested punishment for the driver is to cut his knacks off, skin him alive, then really "Start" on him.

Hang on: Don’t forget yanks call pickups trucks.

Here’s a ‘truck’ on my truck, my truck is limited to 100kph, the ‘truck’ on the back isn’t.

If you watch any of those DUI Cop videos on YouTube, the USA is a bit of a joke regarding Drink Driving. It constantly gets pleaded down with minimal consequences. We used to be at a similar level, 0.08, which is way too high, especially if your body weight is low. We now use 0.05, mandatory random breath testing, which pulls you up, and you MUST blow anywhere and any time. It's the only way, and even then, we still have plenty of drink driving, but at least it's low level here in Oz from slight mistakes. At least it reduces the legless types, so many caught in those USA vids are at extreme levels, 2.0 and more. If it sounds like I am wanking on, we were exactly the same 20 years back, with hundreds killed every year, and just like everybody else, I did it as well; stupid blind luck saved me.

For shits and giggles you can't beat the accidents/incidents that are captured by TV helicopter news crews on
Los Angeles stations. Yesterday there was visceral footage on KTLA (Channel 5 ) of a fleeing suspect from shooting
a sherrif's deputy and killing him. The suspect was motoring along the freeway at high speed when an off-duty law
enforcement officer in his car proceeded to veer into the guy's lane and cause a horrific...I mean spectacular get off
ar speed. The guy is in hospital but the crash is fully shown. I imagine the footage is still current and available on the
good ole internet. Watch it you may enjoy the karmic payback. I know I did.

just leave him in the cell, without food, water, sanitation, heating, lighting, or fresh clothing, I dont know how long it would take, but I would wager it was much too fast,

On the subject of being taken from behind ........... In the USA Elon Musk`s Tesla " Autopilot " has already killed motorcyclists by driving into them from behind .......... It seems the Tesla`s radar has trouble identifying anything smaller than another car ..........

Presumably the "driver" was on the phone / watching a movie / having a wank / doing a crossword puzzle at the time ...........

Dunno about U-Rupp , but here in the UK there is a Government Consultation in progress at the moment to address terminology such as " Autopilot " ..... " Super Cruise " ...... " ProPilot " ...... and so on ..... terms that may give the driver the impression that he can just sit back and let the vehicle take all the decisions ......... and the fatal consequences that can arise from that mindset ............

There is also the requirement that Automated Vehicle Systems should operate to a standard equivalent to " a competent and alert driver " .... ( whatever that might be .... ) ..........

Motorcycle Action Group is one of the riders rights groups that is providing input to this Consultation ......... In the hope that bike riders and their safety concerns aren`t forgotten in this rush to vehicle automation .........

As usual it`s the same few trying to make the riders voices heard ......... whilst the majority ride around in ignorant bliss , unaware of what is about to hit them .......... ( maybe literally ...... ) ............

On a brighter note .......... as motorcyclists we could probably employ the old trick of when another vehicle appears to be gaining ground in your mirror , then a couple of quick downshifts and gassing it will quickly reduce said vehicle to a tiny dot in the distance behind you ...... something the triples used to be quite good at ......... ( and the twins as well , eh Ron ? ) .............. ;) ................

It is going to take over. There will probably be transponders available for things like motor and pedal cycles, pedestrians, baby strollers etc. so that the robots know they are there, then become mandatory.

That depends what you're riding.
Modern cars are pretty nippy.
My Falcone cruises at 90 km/h but takes 2 km to reach that speed. In the meantime, you have cars close behind.
I imagine that with a chair fitted, that according to engine would often be the case.

So car drivers need to be educated, and taxed.
