Mounting grab rail

Now I expected this to be easy I picked up this grab rail today but needs some mounting hardware.

Anyone care to share a close up of how theirs is mounted so I can see what mounting hardware I'm missing?

If upright shocks then all you need are 2 x short M8 bolts. These bolt through the 2 tubes sticking out, and through a couple of brackets on the frame where the seat would bolt on a 3C. On a 3CL they are redundant.
The 2 larger holes go outboard of the upper shock mounts and the upper shock bolt passes through them, the shock mounts ad the frame bracket.
The 2 small brackets at the rear of the grab rail are for indicators.
Will try to find a photo id still not clear.

On later 180s with angled shocks the upper shock mounts are redundant and 2 spacers are required, the same width as the upper shock bush width, around 25mm or so. Special spacers are available but you could use cut offs from an old pair of handlebars if stuck.

I have the lean forward shock so spacers are the go. Also my indicators are down on the number plate so those two back mounts are redundant which shouldn't affect the mounting as they wouldn't have been 'structural' I guess.

Just find/make a couple of spacers then and you're ready to fit it.

To me that looks like a short style grab rail so as your shocks are laid forward ( now ) then you will need to source some M12 bolts and as per Grant some spacers as the short grab rail was for upright shock bikes... .. the spacers will need to replicate as if there was a shock there... so need to be the width of the shock bushes... some old shock bushes would work.
Think the bolts are 40mm in length but not having a grab rail on my series 1... that is what the strap on the seat is for cant measure so its a guess on the length.. then for the rear mounts M8 x say 25mm should get you sorted.

The rail would mount on the outside of the shock top mount ... then the others on the two tabs behind the rear shock in this pic.

I think I'll probably leave it off, as you said the strap on the seat if required but mostly my wife has me in a death grip. I am sure someone will want one at some stage so I will on-sell it.

I have some original grab rail spacers which have been freshly rechromed and also some unused stainless ones if you do decide to fit it.  PM me if interested.
