As threatened in the Best Helmet In Hot Weather thread ..........

I went off on a tangent slightly about being stuck in traffic in the heat ........ and then the reason why everyone is stuck in traffic in the first place ........

Welcome to the South Gloucestershire Council Shit Show ..........

( South Gloucestershire is the controlling authority encompassing a large part of what you would normally assume to be the City of Bristol ... ) ......

41 minutes recorded yesterday morning , but the PC chops it up into 10 minute chunks ........ each one of 3.7 GB , and the PC can only swallow up to 5 GB in one go ........ So it`s one ten minute chunk at a time ........ and that`s too much for this forum to handle at once apparently ........

So ......... Upload it onto YouTube , where the whole thing can then be copied over to here .... ( you lucky people ) .......

I expect experienced You Tubers ... ( Laverdel for example ) ... will be laughing their socks off at all this ....... but it`s the best I can do .............

My YouTube " channel * has one ( just the one ) subscriber btw ....... don`t ask how or why , I don`t know either ......... apparently it`s some bloke in the south of France who rides a Vespa around his village , which is nice ........ ( not Nice ) ............

I chose this clip because it illustrates the stupid cycle lane being constructed on the right hand side going in ........ narrowing an already busy main road ..... the bloody cycle lane is going to be just as wide as one of the existing lanes ......... inconveniencing the majority for the sake of a minority whose number can probably be counted on the fingers of a mitten ........

A clip later on showing grid-locked traffic tail backs in Bristol ( South Gloucestershire ) with no room for even a bike to squeeze through , due to never ending work on a fly-over bridge , which is just too harrowing to watch , even though this was a Saturday ....... not working day Mon to Friday .......... and it`s just as bad , if not even worse , going the other way , trying to get out ..........


BUT BUT BUT ........ the real reason for all this is ...........

Surely I`m not the only one on here with a GoPro .......... Get one nailed onto the front of your helmet and record your daily LAVERDA commute / trip to the shops / ton-ten down the local by-pass ... ( kph pf course :whistle: ) ...... and put it on here for all of us to see .........

I know there are some Laverda clips on YouTube , but not nearly enough ........ especially compared to the amount of Ducati stuff , for example ............

I wish I could have done this when I still had the Mirage ....... too late now for me , but not for you .............

Sorry about the wind noise on playback , if you bother to watch ........ there`s probably a way of reducing it , but I haven`t worked out how yet ......

This is the sort of thing I had in mind in case you weren`t sure ........ too few around like this , and this is from 18 years ago ! ...........

Less up on the bench , more out on the road ..... that`s what I say ........;) .............

Rita was old man Lucas’ secretary apparently….whether she ignited anything I can’t say. Lord Beulieau commissioned the Silver lady ( Rolls Royce bonnet tart) was based on his secretary- who he was undoubtedly shagging…. from behind would be my best bet!

The figure is most commonly known as 'The Spirit of Ecstasy', which would support your contention.
Sculpted by Charles Robinson Sykes, listed as an optional extra by Rolls Royce, but in practice it was fitted to almost all cars, becoming a standard fitting in the early 1920s. It was silver plated from 1911 until 1914 when the mascot was made with nickel or chrome alloy to dissuade theft.

Many years ago, when one of the then famous UK broad sheet newspapers was purchased by the then owner of the Sun newspaper.
A spoof advertisement from Rolls Royce appeared on Page 3 of the newly acquired broad sheet.
A photograph of the RR 'The Spirit of Ecstasy' with the typical description of the lady was given and 'The Spirit of Ecstasy' was given the name Emily.
My family having just bought a new as yet unnamed dog felt that Emily would be appropriate. So dog, a small bitch Labrador was dually named Emily.
Only to read an apology in the same broadsheet stating that the name of 'The Spirit of Ecstasy' had been given the wrong name and her actual name was Amelia, I think. Not sure of the correct name but probably one of you can correct me.

The dog kept the name Emily.
 
It was Eleanor Thornton , Beaulieu`s secretary whom the Rolls Royce Spirit of Ecstasy was based upon .......

She was drowned in December 1915 when the SS Persia she was a passenger aboard was torpedoed by a German U-boat in the Mediterranean Sea ......

I've thought to do similar with one of my rides, but having watched a number of motorcycle ride videos, it is obvious that a lot of people have a much better eye for such things than myself but also have invested a lot more money in equipment than I have or am willing to spend.
Also a lot of computer time editing and stitching in stills, music etc.
It could be a very good way of getting 'Laverda' back into the minds of the younger generation.

I just lack the ability, time and talent.

Maybe I should just keep trying.
I do live in a great place for such videos and I do own a beautiful bike. ( in my view anyway).

I did once ride through the old part of my nearest city following a friend and at the time wished I'd had a 360 degree camera as it could have been good foundation footage for a video especially with the exhaust notes bouncing of the buildings.

Yes , it would be nice to get a few more videos of Laverdas being ridden from a rider`s pov onto YouTube as a way of getting the Laverda message across to younger viewers ..........

It would make a change from endless clips of " Panigale V2 Raw Sound with Termis " and so on ........ although they`re ok ...... I`d like to see a few more titled " Laverda Jota Raw Sound with Healeys " or somesuch ........ even if that has a few scratching their heads , but at least in would get us noticed ......

My editing and presentation on YouTube is crap as well ...... I just basically use it as a vehicle to get stuff onto this forum ........

As I said earlier , I wish I still had the Mirage to use with the GoPro ......... then I would be recording and posting stuff everyday , like Ducati NYC does .......

I might even get reasonably good at it ..........
