Anyone know who this person is that has done so much harm to our attempts to get new parts made for our bikes?
Steve Burgess the manufacturer has been attacked on facebook (I don't use it) by the guy in the title, told his workmanship is poor, his parts don't fit and they are too expensive. As a result we have lost a supplier.
I can't tell you how pissed off I am.
If you are on here and know him or if anyone else knows him then shine a light on the twat.

They looked great in the pics and sounded insanely cheap to buy. There are plenty of Dickheads about in the world, and motocycling isn't exempt from them.

I just wasted 30 minutes searching THAT PLACE looking for info on this. The only reference I could see was Malcom offering him a spot at his coming show and supporting anyone attempting to make Laverda bits. Searching THAT PLACE is the most frustrating thing I've ever done. Talk about WAKAMOL. See it once and like Brigadoon its just gone. I couldn't find the printer bloke or the complainer.

That stinks. Surely Mr Grief could post in response to the unwarranted attack? Either that or simply ignore it and carry on selling to people who actually appreciate his work?

FB is a wonderful place. Someone anonymously sent a screenshot of the SFQ above the Yarra Valley to my phone ... it's not someone in my contacts and came from an Australian number - anonymous, no message (somewhat troubling). But the screenshot came from a share to a group called Classic Italian Superbikes ... there were three comments: one was positive (but 'it should be orange), two negative ('don't like the fairing' and 'horid (sic) colour'). Luckily I don't give a rat's arse what the FB community think.

The only reason I joined was that it has content from people who were here but are not any more. Grant and a few others. It's a cesspool mostly involving suspect ads with zero redeeming features. Saw that pic Q, they must charge by the word. Even my Relos and mates post a pic with zero words requiring you to guess who, what, why and where. Apparently, according to my younger relatives, Fs days are done, they mainly use Instagram, whatever that is, sadly also owned by that Degenerate.

Fair policy, good on him for making the decision not to be another manufacturer ripping off other manufacturers designs.
It’s a shame though, and I think he’s taking it a bit far, since Laverda doesn’t exist anymore and his products are a welcome addition to the reproduction parts market.
I hope he continues with any other parts he’s making.

His choice, but it's a bit OCD. Have at it and let the market decide. Capitalism does have a few sensible tenets.

I have a screenshot of the conversation that a friend sent to me. the guy criticised the items being manufactured and told him you can still get original tailpieces at a reasonable price. He then called him a knob. It doesn't help having people attack our suppliers for fun.

Are there many suppliers around who haven't been attacked and called all sorts of names?
Part of the game as far as I'm concerned.
Paul

Having purchase parts from Steve at 3D and I’m very pleased with my purchases and the fast and efficient service he provides, I am disappointed and saddened to read these posts.
Steve is appears has a very high level of integrity. Not wishing to produce parts that someone could pass off as genuine or NOS when they are not. By not competing with alternative suppliers he is also protecting himself from potential charges of (I’m unsure of the technical terms) ‘piracy’ fabrication of false products?
He is, it appears also sticking to his own ethos of dedicating his time and effort to those who really need it.
Some may think a little over sensitive.
He’s just a man trying to do the right thing.
I applaud his integrity.
I feel sure that if someone preferably in some form of position of ‘authority’ within the Laverda community approached him, he may change his mind.
Unfortunately in this day and age, when ever we go public, someone will try to cut us down. FB, TikTok etc. all have there uses and as is graphically demonstrated here, there down side.
Just to be clear, I have no connection to Steve Burgess, beyond be a satisfied customer.

I agree with Rob, you don’t hear anyone complaining about the availability of sfc750 seats and fairings as it seems like every other glass manufacturer has them in there lineup. As for original items being available then point me at them. This is another reason why I’m staying away from from facebook. It’s like the old fairy tales where the trolls lived under the bridge but the modern day trolls live on social media and hide behind they keyboard.I hope that old mate thumbs his nose at them and continues to contribute to our parts supply. I hope this turns out well for him and us as a community.
A pissed off Tom😡
