Murray Walker dead,dead

I note that the picture from the Keig Collection of Graham Walker on works Rudge in the IOM with a schoolboy alongside is being used
in news items. I remember Murray saying in an interview with one of the bike mags that it isn't him.
And so it gets perpetuated.

one of the last true gentleman, and a serious motorcyclist to boot owning and riding a BMW 1000 boxer for decades, using it whenevr possible to commute to his "work" and riding it beyond his 88th birthday.

Its a queer thing but when he retired 20 years ago, I stopped having an interest in formula 1, but I didn't realize it until about five years later, the pleasure had gone, even though we had rising and rising Brits getting on and going up and descending as well, always of more interest if your countrymen are doing well. I wouldn't be able to tell you the names of any formula1 commentators today, whatever happened to Katy Perry and thankfully Kate Moss didnt get re-booked.
CLEM

Bloody hell! In all the years I've been riding I've never experienced weave - and I weigh 60kg. Astonishing that motos capable of 200kph+ in the day all seemed to suffer from it at speeds as low as 130kph when the rider sits upright. Maybe that's why I love the SF so much - didn't matter how fast i went, rock solid.

Heard a story about Senna talking to Murray once and saying "Why do you pronounce my name that way?"(Air-ton),"It should be Arr-ton".
So Murray thinks ok then and in the next couple of broadcasts starts pronouncing it the way Senna said.
Over the next couple of days Murray starts receiving hate mail/comments along the lines of "Why are you pronouncing Senna`s name like that,Whats wrong with you,Everyone knows it`s Air-ton" and so on.
So Murray just goes back to pronouncing it that way again.....sometimes you just can`t win.
Mind you,he did used to call Cagivas (Cageveeas) "Caaagavas" which was irritating, and wrong,I think-still irritating anyway.

I was 5'10.5" @ 136/138 lbs. This Guy knows what he's talking about; except, I went further where I was crawling all over over my motorcycle to beat more powerful motorcycles with my 7800rpm 70/71 Breganzie 750 SF.

You really have to be young and brave. At 38 I got married and 20 years later at 68, after not riding, I never did reacquire that ZONE.

At 71 I sold my favorite ride, a Breganzie, knowing I could never handle her potential again and quit riding motorcycles - Some day, if a Motorcycle don't kill you, we have to make that decision ;o(

Weird! That 71 Berganzie and I at 71 - PARTED.

She got a new home, for a fair price, and truly believe the enthusiast will take care of her.

Beautiful ride in top condition - I guaranteed it.

Had to replace them old Rayon Radial Belted Phantoms with Bios Belt BT's - Loved the Perrili Phantom - Wish they they still made them in 18".
A side from getting old I lost a lot of confidence in my Breganzie because of tires as she ate tires fast if you were into aggressive cafe.

Sky will have a tribute to Murray as part of their Bahrain F1 race coverage, ESPN in US, I'd guess one of the Oz networks will be broadcasting Sky's show?
