Mystery Airbox?

Hi,

I wasn't sure where to ask this as there doesn't seem to be a Stupid Questions section. Hope it's in the right place.

We're having a lockdown clearout and just unearthed this. It's a Laverda part and has "LAVERDA" followed by an illegible part(?) number, DGM6142??? The "tubes" are rubber (and in surprisingly excellent condition).

It's obviously an airbox but off what?

UPDATE - just put "Laverda airbox" into eBay and came up with this, which is similar but subtly difference (see chamfers on top), which claims to be an SF airbox...and at a fairly eye watering price for what looks like a pile of scrap. Better go up and stop anyone throwing it away, LOL! Still need to know what ours is, then. Anyone?

OK, thanks. Is there a Laverda part number list available anywhere, do you know? Wouldn't want to sell it then find out it's the wrong item.
Somebody with a GTL will pop up very soon.
As far as I know, parts lists are by model, I don't know of a general one.
DGM is a homologation number I believe.

ebay one is SF1/2/3

I would say that Paul is correct except that the "extra wings" on yours would probably point to it being desert sand spec ex saudi police.
Just a guess really and waiting to be shot down in flames.

It does look like a GTL airbox, Laverda part number 61910161 34.
Would ideally fit only with the GTL side panels and needs the matching back panel to hold the filter element in place.
Motalia used to made a back panel to use a standard K&N element though I believe DAM in Australia have now stared getting replica original filter elements made.

A flat piece of metal plate makes a perfectly good back panel.
Standard KN filter can be used with standard back panel.

I would hasard GTL.
VHB carbs and vertical filter.

OK. Thanks again. All the information I can see is that GTLs came with PHF carbs (but I know very little and my Laverda "expert" is incommunicado at the moment). Was there a VHB carbed version of the GTL please? Do I advertise this as "for a GTL with VHB carbs"?

We've just found a boxload of Tommaselli parts too! OMG! Nightmare!

Matt, GTLs came with 30mm PHBs.

It's indeed a GTL airbox and I'd be interested, if it's for sale. It is unique to the GTL frame, fixing lugs are located differently than SF et al.

GTLs have VHB carbs, same as GTs.

Sure it's for sale. Drop me a message with an offer. It'll be on eBay soon anyway. I'll post the item number here if it goes that way.

Another one for you experts please! Apparently these came off a 750 Laverda of some description. Any idea of the manufacturer? Did Laverda make their own? I thought maybe the wiring holes, which look original, not added, might tell the manufacturer. Also for sale & via eBay soon, but we thought knowing the make might bring a better price? They're 35mm and in lovely condition. Thanks in advance. 20210313_115928 - Copy.jpg

ASAIK the very last GTL's (19,635+ maybe) came with the SF3 engine and its 36mm PHF carbs., and also frames for SF3 and stamped as such not stamped GTL. Not sure what air box or filter they had though, probably exactly as SF1/2/3

I’m interested in your GTL airbox. I‘m about to start a GTL rebuild which has 36mm carbs and K&Ns. I have the original 30mm carbs but not the airbox for filter etc.
