New 1000 Side Panels 3D Printed.

The ILOC have collaborated with a guy who makes Suzuki Panels etc in the UK. The prototypes are reportedly a great fit and will be available on ebay uk at £55 each from next week.
I hope we can get more items manufactured. Nick Davies lent the original items for scanning and many thanks to him and everyone else involved.

The club have sent a tooltray for him to copy.
He needs items in top condition to be scanned, I have an airbox somewhere but I'm not sure how good it is.
I have an unused carbonfibre tailpiece and inner I bought from Boba years ago. I don't know how accurate they are but I suspect they are good. If anyone can confirm how accurate they are maybe we could get them made?
 
I’ve just received a pair of Steve’s panels and I’m impressed. They require a bit of fettling to make them ready for paint and need holes drilled for badges. I’ve seen photos of air box prototypes and believe they will be of the same quality. Steve asked me if I had an original tail piece but unfortunately both bits of mine are fibre glass reproduction I managed to get from Phil Todd. If anyone has the real thing Steve would love to start making those as well.
 
We need to get some of these rubbers made aswell to the mirrors.

Can you print rubber items?
I've had some success using TPU material with FDM 3D printing to replicate rubber items. Based on files supplied here by Sami "cape" for the instrument support rings I got rings that are a little thicker but soft and flexible and I've used his designs to make key ring labels based on the long tank badges. Depending upon the infill % TPU can be very flexible to semi-rigid.

It looks like the side panels in ABS are made using the resin tank UV light hardening method of 3D printing. I have no experience of doing this myself though I have had some parts made for me and I am impressed with the smoothness and possible very fine detail compared with my FDM projects. I don't know if there's a TPU equivalent resin but I'm told switching materials is much more work in the resin tank method than in the FDM process so would want to do quite a batch to justify the tank and material switchover.

I bought one of the tool trays, seems good to me

I have had some feedback from Steve the guy making the airbox.
First of all he doesn't want to put the DGM number on the box because he doesn't want to be accused of making counterfeit goods.
Secondly the boxes are ready to sell and the price is good in my opinion.

They will be a bit dearer on Ebay to cover costs.
