new atomizers shorter?

Rebuilding the carbs on the RGS Corsa and the new atomizers are shorter than those that were installed (both 265).  On the old ones the tube extends above the threads by a 1mm or so, but on the new ones the atomizer ends at the top of the threads. Other than that they seem identical. I could not find any reference to this, any concerns?  I think I attached a photo...

Hi - The type you need are AB265 needle jets(atomizers) - these are maybe "AR" or other types - it they are stamped AB265 then i don't understand why they are different - regards - Phil

Thanks Phil, I didn't check if AB or AR, actually I didn't know there was different styles. When I get home I'll get both my reading glasses and magnifying glass out and have a look if they are marked.

Not sure, but I think the longer type are for 2-stroke applications.  Remember seeing something like that in the Dellorto manual.

As Phil has stated, AB265 are the correct items.

Piet,

The picture shows the longer one marked as "old" (i.e. what was originally fitted). I always wondered why the 120s sounded a bit funny.....didn't know they were 2 strokes though  :P :P

I think its the shorter one used for 2 strokes...all my triples have parts that look like the one on the left

I heard from Wolfgang today, some mix up with his Dellorto order, and he mistakenly sent the wrong ones out to me. Correct ones are on their way. So the longer ones are the correct ones.  He did mention he is off for his first trip in 4 years on his SFC1000, as he has been rebuilding it. It is good to see that so many of the people who make a living working to support our Laverdas also ride. I find that for many motor sports related businesses (motorcycles, boats, etc) the owners get so busy and tired of working in that industry, they no longer enjoy riding.
