New Borranis

Maurice,
I will be restoring an SS750 for a person who has got a set of these rims from a resto company in Europe. We queried the quality some time ago and was told what  I posted above. The company asked the Italian supplier for better quality and we got a set this week from them out of the latest batch. I will probably polish over the stamps to take some roughness out.Back to Classics is their name. Either Dutch or German I think.

Received 2 sets a few months back,  2 off 2 1/4  1 off 2 1/2  and 1 off 3"
following comments,

Quality of wheel very nice, no welding mark and very hard to find, look really good.
However!
The wheels were ordered with spoke dimples pressed and drilled to match brakes etc ready to be spoked.
The drum dimensions were given and the supplier even told me they had the original specs etc.
When we tried to spoke them it was not impressive!  Luckily there is quite a bit of meat in the material as we had to re-chamfer the inside and adjust the drillings on all wheels.  In future I would order the rims "un-punched" and get that done by a good wheel builder.

Bang for buck?  still good.
