Greetings one and all, I sincerely hope this post finds everyone well.
I am thankful that you have allowed me to join the forum. I am new to Laverda ownership, but not new to the obsession of motorcycles, I have been fortunate enough to have restored my collection myself over the last few years and enjoy a variety of early 80?s to late 90?s Italian and Japanese bikes. Some are restored, some are waiting their turn and are currently just greasy ornaments.
One of the projects I have managed to source, is one that needs a lot of work, and it is the Zane Laverda 750s, specs unconfirmed right now, I am hoping to learn a bit more about these models, ands the variety thereof. (any guidance or input on this much appreciated)
Much of what appealed to me about this bike, was the jumbled up mess of a history and model variety that is not well documented nor are parts seemingly very easy to get hold of, this challenge appeals to me, as I really prefer to build rare stuff, makes the project more rewarding at the end and I have gotten bored of straightforward projects.
The other main motivator for picking this up, is that Laverdas are very scarce, and expensive in this part of the world, and this one allows me to enjoy the awesome handling that Laverda and Italian bikes are renowned for without totally bankrupting me. I know there is a hot debate whether this is a ?real laverda? or not, but I?m not worrying myself with that, I am happy to accept this is as close as I will get the real mackoy, so Zane Laverda is ok with me. I also have a Cagiva based Ducati and it still makes me smile just as much as my ?Ducati Ducati? does.
Anyways, thanks again for reading my post and for allowing me to be a part of the forum, I will surely offer some technical advise along with way, share what I have learnt and also to continue to learn and enjoy the shared passion that is vintage motorcycling.
