Greetings all! Delighted to say that I am once again the proud owner of a 750 SF2. I’ll post some pics of the new ride soon, (currently rebuilding the carbs), but to get the Forum ball rolling I thought I’d post a photo of my first Laverda, circa 1977-78. It was a stock ‘74 when I bought it used in 1976 in Southern California (USA). The picture shows the bike in its final version after being customized by Lance Weil at his performance shop “Ricky Racer” in Pomona California. As some of you may know, Lance was a former racer and early Laverda proponent in my home state whom I met through a riding buddy and who steered me to the original owner selling a low mileage example. At the time the Laverda was a replacement for my recently sold ‘71 Norton Commando 750. The original color was that sort of very slightly greenish gold metallic, but even then the original owner had added pinstriping. No doubt differing opinions on the customization, but I thought it was pretty cool at the time. Looking forward to taking part in the Forum. Seems to be comprised of the usual complement of lunatics, (or is it “Fanatics”?) I am Eddie Walsh.
