Hi!
My name is Esben, I live Nort of Stuttgart in Germany, and I've recently become a Laverda owner again after a long hiatus.
The "new" bike is a 1971 SF with "S-style" tank and Smiths instruments.
I've had to have the engine rebuilt with new pistons etc, as I managed to break a piston ring, but I really enjoy it nd ride it regularly.

My first bike was a 1973 750 SF1 and I also had a 1000 180° Jota, so I'm not unfamiliar with Laverdas, but it's been a while!

71 model SF was made from autumn 1970 onwards. The 72 model SF, with long tank and ND clocks was made from autumn 71 onwards. What was obtainable depended very much on the local importer. Germany probably wasn't a priority for Moto Laverda at the time, if yours is a German market model.
Where did you source your number dates?

Hi,
I've used this as a reference:

It's in German though!

I think my bike was originally in Italy, but I'm not 100% sure.

My German is good enough for that.
It's totally wrong. If you want an idea of the chronology, have a look at the Laverdamania register, just don't trust it if you want to buy an SFC.
My very limited experience would indicate that Italian market models were ahead of export ones in specifications. Some markets were way behind. It was a small town business.

Well, Laverdamania also says that mine is a 1971 😉
