Well I heard this guy up the road had a bike for sale, so 1000k round trip and this followed me home.
First Laverda I have ever owned, long time admirer though.
The bike will now be living with me in Wangaratta, country Victoria. Some beautiful roads in this part of Australia like the snowy mountains.
So please forgive me if I act like a child on Christmas Day and ask lots of silly questions like what oil should I use….
Maurice again thank you so much and I promise to treat Nonna well.

Let's not start an 'Oil Thread' but, if it didn't come with a Handbook, get one. It's full of little details, like below, which save fresh owners from grief.

no mention of the two different upper/lower markers on factory dipstick(s), never really had a handle ( no pun ) on how that came about, are the twin dipsticks different from the triples in level plimsoll marks? One dip stick had "Total" on it and one did not... fly in the oil jonny here...j

I believe the twin ones are different, Jon. Shorter, I think.
The difference between the upper and lower marks is, not accidentally, half a litre.

Twins are definitely different - my twin came with an incorrect triple dipstick.

As part of my full rebuild I will be able to put a known amount of oil in the bike and make an accurate mark on the dipstick for future use.
