Any of you remember this Revel Model Kit?
It was a copy of McQueens private modified destert Husqvarna but renamed to avoid paying him royalties.
I loved that model when I was young and made two of them. Been searching for a long time for one and found a really good condition full unmade kit a year or so ago so in deciding whether to make it or not I was offered something that helped my decide.
Have a look at my new display.

Ah!
Maybe too real? :D
:D

The special Vesco Desert tank actually belonged to McQueen himself and I have the provenance to prove it, letters, photos lineage etc so going to frame it all and pin it to the wall behind it. The bike is a very rare and original 1970, 8 speed 360 Sportsman so special enough on it's own.
On the right shelf next to the red husky std fuel tank you will see a leather Malcolm Smith bag, that also has McQueen provenance so a little display medley.

Hope you like it
Jules

How can you be sure that your visitors are actually listening to you during a conversation? If I imagine sitting there, I would be totally distracted...

Well Jo,
The man cave is upstairs from my showroom and when you see what is in the showroom you know that if they are in the man cave they have come in to unwind :D The showroom at the moment has about 40 cars in it and another showroom next to the workshop with another 10 and the workshop with 20 or so, all lovely things between 1920s to late 50s
We shouldn't but we do take it for granted until we remind ourselves how lucky we are.

Regards,
Jules

There he is for his annual provoking jealousy in all fix. In my reality, I fitted a locally made Plastic Open Road 15-litre tank to my 1982 Husky 420 Automatic when the original tank had me walking 10ks back to my car bone dry at 35ks. Well before Camelbacks I tried one of those ex-army canteens on a belt till I crashed on it, that hurt a lot. That bloody film, On Any Sunday with those 3 blokes having huge fun must have sold millions of Dirt Bikes then and still. Love your display, not to mention THOSE CARS. Always good to see you back, mate

Thanks Vince,
Just been very busy these last few years making it all work, still room for improvements.
Going to do a bit on my race project now for the first time in probably over a year!
My plan is to finish it this year. Ha ha ha ha!
PS. The cars are not mine so no need to be jealous ;)

I would say I’m envious rather than jealous. Envy allows me to be happy for those that have what I don’t. As far as your workshop show room , what a great place to turn up to and work in everyday. I feel much the same about mine …. Lucky

Great to see you pop up again Julian.

You’ve obviously been busy, so it explains your absence, can’t wait to see your future work on the race bike
