New UK meeting - Wiltshire / Hampshire / Dorset area

What's that thing in the background that the people standing around all seem to be interested in. Looks like a brown box.
Cam, it's a wooden box on the back of a trike.
I've never understood the point of trikes, unless the rider has mobility issues - all the down sides of riding a bike added to the down sides of driving a car...

Gday Al how do you like the mighty K81s on your 1200?
I come under a bit of pressure from my Aussie mates when they see them on my Aussie drummer and not even game to break out the Bonnie with them on.
I find on the drummer that she tips off the apex of the tyre due to the triangular shape can take a bit to get used to.

Hi Maurice,
As you know, they're a modern compound and therefore (hopefully) much better than their 1960s/'70s namesakes.
The 1200 gets hustled along reasonably well and I'm pleased to report that I've yet to have any 'moments' with them - they do work a lot better than the tread pattern would suggest! :)

Four Laverdas at The Crown yesterday evening ๐Ÿ˜Š Unfortunately I couldn't be there, so thanks to all that did turn up, I hope you enjoyed the ride and the venue.
Thanks too to Keith Prentice for the photos ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ
Next meeting, Wednesday 28th June.

"I've heard the same criticism said of sidecar outfits, but to me, they're in a different league to trikes. You can put a lot of junk, including a passenger or dog in a sidecar. And being such an insanely lopsided vehicle, they're a hugely comical thing to ride."

could'nt agree with you more there Cam, both on the road and on the track, I even combined both and put a racer on the road, they make no sense whatsoever, but I just love them. It was a cut down featherbed, leading link forks, Norton TLS and ex Chris Vincent 650 BSA complete with 45DCOE and the "Houghton" howler (a 2:1 with mega) at the time a currently competitive outfit, the aluminum "bodywork" went someway to make it legal for a passenger and also hide the fact that she didnt have a proper seat, just a kneeler pad, IT WAS perfectly legal (16" race tyres excepted) for me on my own, but with a passenger (vital for safety/stability) maybe not. I once collected the mother in law from her work place, scooping her out of a bus que of female mates all waiting, smoking, chatting, giggling, together and when I got her home she needed new tights, since she insisted on kneeling, a great lady always up for a laugh, her workmates absolutely roared with laughter, youre not getting on that thing, you never will, you havent got the bottle etc, of course it had to be a U turn, which got the rear wheel spinning, these things just have to be done.
