As much as the 2x4 that the PO wedged between the gap of the smaller battery and strap was humorous, I relocated a new strap closer in. Also replaced the corroded battery cables and inserted a plastic tray under the wiring loom to give it some support. Waiting for parts so I can start it up again- hopefully it will hold a steady idle after cleaning the tank, fuel taps, float bowls, clogged/broken air filter, and all new cables.
