I took the long way to work today.... my Valentines day gift from Kat was this , an 18 year old F4 750.... things moved quickly thanks to Michipons and his legal eagles, two and a half weeks and I had the bike registered in Spain.
The MV came from a private collection, a car guy, who had picked her up in Estonia when buying a car for his collection. The previous owner doesnt ride bikes, so it sat being displayed for some time , until I got her. Now tires and fluids have been changed, a few more things yet to be done for the fresh start I want, but I have to wait for those bits to arrive. This has given me a well earned break from the Jota project, where I couldnt see the trees because I was deep in the forrest.
Im now back in full Jota project mode, although this weekend there will be a mix of riding and Jota work!
Not a bad looking bus for 18 years old! Second picture shows her in maintenance mode , wheels getting new hoops and me getting acces to do oil and coolant etc. Looks fast even without wheels
Thanks for your contacts Miguel ... Thanks for the gift Kat

I was fortunate enough to borrow one for an afternoon of hooning around the hills above Adelaide 15 years ago, back when I could fold myself onto one. Probably, no yes the most exciting bike I have had the pleasure of riding, performance beyond anything I had ever ridden at the time or since, handling left me wanting nothing more, more on tap beyond my abilities. I would love to own one, your a very lucky man Sideshow, enjoy the ride.

coupla things if its been out of action-drain tank and flush-then flush again-bad fuel they do not like-the young blokes has given me grief from sitting and firing up with old fuel-dropped a cylinder and looks like an injector, while doing this the plastic quick connects will almost certainly snap -replace with the flash stainless ones-same as ducati-have a very close look at rear hub-should fail at around 25 thousand kays-guy here in oz is kept very busy with billet replacements-thats it-youll love it,the thousand is an animal

Yup on the fuel thing, and have the petrol hose connectors too to put on. Cosí has hooked me up with Mitch on the hub, will order that next month . Thanks for the heads up.

I think this should be a long term thread..there must be plenty of folks out there that bought "interim" bikes after starting their Laverda project.
I just did exacatly the same having sold my KTM 640 and Duc 821 Hyper I had nothing rideable in the shed.
I came across this 09 Aprilia Shiver with 2000 miles on it..just about mint from a wealthy guy that cant stop buying bikes.ha ha . New tires going on tomorrow.. and my favorite colour to boot. Not the most powerful tool out there but 77hp at the rear wheel more than enough for around here ..and it does sound nice..!!
