I have an nos 1974-75 750 SFC gas tank for sale. It has been painted the correct Laverda orange, due to some minor scuffing it received. The paint finish is to the same standard as the original gelcoat. It will have to be coated prior to use, as modern fuels may attack the polyester resin. Pictures available. Asking $900.00 USD plus shipping from Niagara area, Canada. email arco192@start.ca
The tank is a 3C endurance racing tank, and it has been sold. see my post to gert in converations. I pulled molds, and can make copies.

This gas tank is not a 74-75 750 SFC tank. I am sorry for this misrepresentation. I am researching to correctly identify the tank, and will correct the ad as soon as I can.

Hi Jim, I'm in contact with Wolfgang, looking forward to correctly identifying the tank. I'm primarily a Ducati person, although I've rebuilt 750 & 3C Laverda engines, restored an SF, and made SFC glass for an SF 'special'. I recall finding a detailed history of the SFC somewhere on the net, anyone have a link?

No, I,ve reduced the two pics I tried to attach from 6MB ea to 575KB & 315KB. I'll try again now.
Didn't work. It says "the uploaded image is too big"

Try accessing site w/ smartphone & adding pics. I find it easier as most of my pics are taken w/ phone anyway. HTH.

Here you go Rick I think this tank is a custom tank to fit a 3CL/Jota/1200 frame see the cutouts for the carb tops and the dimples at the rear of the tank for the rubber supports on the frame.

I contacted the original purchaser of the tank. He got the tank from a dealer in England in the late '70s, early '80s. It is an endurance racing tank for a 3C. It uses the top of a later style 750 SFC tank, and a glass copy of the bottom of a 3C tank, suitably modified to fit. Although the original owner was not sure if it was factory produced, I believe it was, as the cost of custom mixing up gelcoat in Laverda orange is not something one would do for an item unlikely to see more than an extremely small volume of sales.
Thanks, Maurice, for posting the photos!
