NP Pistons?

Who's the manufacturer of NP pistons, allegedly fitted in Breganze to RGS Corsa and 1000SFC? Asso (Mahle) or Mondial?

Never seen anything like an "NP" branding in stock Laverda pistons.

Cast Mondials or forged Assos in the case of the 1000SFC, and perhaps the RGS Corsa.  The HC pistons were also available in cast form from Mondial, not sure what the factory fitted to the Corsa as I've not yet had the pleasure of opening one.

Have you found a connection between Asso and Mahle?

I recall looking at some pistons when I went to the Veterama years ago and one set had "Assowerke Italien (Mahle)" on the box. That led me to believe that Asso was a subsidiary of Mahle, but who knows.

I might be taliking s--t here - but years ago we needed some 1000cc forged pistons for Terry bakers Spondon turbo - we wanted to use the Corsa pistons  and I seem to remember "NP" in a small circle stamped inside them. For some reason I thought they were Mahle and tried to order them through the UK importer who reckoned he'd I.D'd them - the order never came through and we used a set from a corsa we did a 1200cc conversion on. - If "NP" is Mondial - why not stamp them "Mondial" as previously?? - Regards - Phil
 
And Asso seems to remain independant.

Reckon their delivery times would be severely cut though if Mahle, or anybody else for that matter, had a hand in there somewhere... ::)
