Odd Shock Absorber on an RGS

Anyone ever seen shocks like this? They were on the 1984 RGS (the infamous Colorado Craigslist bike) I'm putting back on the road. Air shocks with no springs and a huge piston rod, I assume to accomodate air volume. Plastic sleeves painted black (poorly). Hyme-joint mounts, no markings of any kind anywhere to give a clue who made them.

Thanks all. Just goes to show how ignorant one can be. Having never seen a set and assuming (always a mistake) they were some odd and most likely undesireable units I pretty much dismissed them from the get-go. I'd tried sussing out their make with no luck and stuck on a new set of Ikons. Might be fun to stick them back on once the bike's up and running for a back-to-back comparison. Appear to yet be available, I'm finding pressure specs of 8 bar or so.
