Odyssey PC 680

I'm having a last attempt at recovering a very flat odyssey PC680 battery.
Production date march 2011, so not expecting miracles.
I'll almost certainly be forking out for a new one. Odyssey are obviously great, but before I order a new PC680 has there been any giant leaps in battery technology or any recommendations. Cheers.
 
I have used a charger from a discount supermarket Lidl with great success on very flat Odyssey batteries.

I have had a few Odysseys now , the only one i have replaced was recovered by a car charger i had and showed good voltage at first but it did'nt last - al the new ones i have are fine but they don't need 24/7 tendering - just a top up every 4-5 weeks if i don't use the bike   
 
My PC680 is around 4 years old now. I charge monthly during the winter.
Very impressive cranking performance, I reckon it would start a truck if necessary.
Having said that, I am converting to Li Fe PO4 as older batteries expire. Very light, and even more impressive. I have 4 so far, no problems as yet.
 
guys, take the invest and get you a JMP Battery Monitor II (or similar). Hook it up to the battery and you can check the battery with your smartphone (bluetooth connection needed). helps even to find issues with the charging system of your bike etc. Great device, only 35? roughly and you can wait until your battery goes down to 9 Volts or so and plug in the charger. up to 5 devices can connect to one smart phone; you can then toggle through them to see each batterie's condition.

To be honest, the Battery was turning 10 years old, so can't complain, I'll use the battery maintainer as intended and hook it on whenever I'm not using the bike. If I get 10 years out of this one I'll be happy.👍
