72SF new boy here feeling a bit silly!
I have that green book no mention surely must have one somewhere!?
Bike being rebuilt at the moment (not the engine)
Someone satisfy my curiosity!

That’s amazing don’t think I’ve had a bike without but I am 73 so the ol brain not so good at hanging on to useless information from a lifetime of biking!!

It's not a high pressure oil system so a gauge or light won't tell you anything you need to know. Very simple system, roller and caged-ball bearing crank. As long as nothing blocks oil to the rockers-cams-spindles in the head you should have no oil worries.

Just a side note. Some early 1000 revcounters had indeed the left control
light marked as "Oil".
On the 750s it's the "Gen" light. But as the 1000s don't have a regulator,
it is without function.
