Oil pressure

I’m about ready to start my 750 SF2 after 30 years of dormancy. It’s completely rebuilt. Unlike my Brit bikes with an oil reservoir where you can see the oil flow returning, is there a way to know there’s oil pressure or an orifice to attach a gauge? Thanks guys…….Mark

Hi Mark,
spin the engine with the starter w/o spark-plugs until you see oil through the vale adjustment holes. If this is ok you should be on the safe side.

But earth the spark plugs.
Then you can check for sparks.
Putting your thumb over the plug holes will check for compression.
A sniff test, after it's stopped turning over will confirm fuel.
Check clutch and brakes, then it's road test time.

The oil doesn't return since it stays there.
Use a syringe and squirt plenty of oil on the cams and followers through the valve covers.
As mentioned, turn the engine over with the earthed plugs out, don't overheat the starter, or start it in earnest with a valve cover off, and stop it before repainting your garage.
